NASHVILLE MARKET REPORT
2010
and so...we have come and we have returned...to peach and
almond blossoms...warm days do that here in the valley...and i will get some
pictures this afternoon...i knew it would happen while we were away...
we had a great market - it was too short - but we had a great
market!!! and so...because i have a ton of stuff that needs doing and a
ton of stuff that needs doing at home...i'm launching right into this - having
arrived home at midnight last night...you can only imagine...it seemed like a 2
hour process to answer the e-mails before i ever start the scanner...
there is no particular order to any of this...and i hope no
offense will be taken - the stacks are all over my desk and office floor and i
have to clear and work my way to the bottom. i also have to make the
caveat that with airline "bags on" being so expensive now...although
we took 4 suitcases and priority mail boxes...we purchased limited quantities of
these things. some...it's all we could get...some can be reordered...some
were limited edition kits...and because we have boxes that were being shipped
from nashville today that we should receive on friday...i will do my best to
take care of on a first come, first served basis. yes, i'm going to run
out of things and i can't help that and i'm sorry...but...i had so much room and
could be in only so many places at one time...
NORDEN CRAFTS AND OTHERS
from the heart chart #1 $7.00
on march 5th a year will have passed since we lost our kris. we have all
worked really hard on this for all of you...there are 7 samplers that are all
designed by designers that kris worked with. the one annie and i stitched
is #3 - the above is #1. they are all stitched on 30 count wdw straw and
we've seen #1, #2 and #3 (obviously). they are all SPECTACULAR. we
made some pincushions out of a couple of the motifs on the sampler we stitched
and took them to nashville for the display...you can do anything with these
little 49x49 stitch motifs. all the proceeds for this are being
contributed to animal organizations for the care and adoption of homeless pets
(something so close to kris' heart). i can tell you that #3 is all about
pumpkins and cats and squirrels and fall. i can tell you that i am
going to stitch every one of these samplers - i miss her every single day and it
has been a hard year...she was soooooo loved by all of us who had the luck to
have her in our lives...it is an incredible memorial to her - and i hope you
will buy every single one of these charts and do something fun and clever with
all the designs...she would have just loved that!!!
BLACKBIRD DESIGNS
never disappointed, never left wanting...just an overwhelming sense of how do
they ever do all of it and how come two ladies have such incredible talent and
some of us are left with none or at least at lot less than they have?? all
questions that have been asked and asked and asked again and to which there are
no answers...so all we can do is just wrap ourselves up in their designs like a
comforting blanket and enjoy and appreciate their mastery of taking the plain
and turning it into incredible.. they amaze and delight and inspire annie
and i...and there just are not words to describe how kind, sweet, gentle, not to
mentioned talented beyond all words these ladies are and how they make our
worlds a little bit better...

will be an automatic...and you can have it anyway you want to...threads only,
chart only, fabric & chart, blah, blah, blah...we can do it. there is
chat about doing it on one large piece and that size would be 387x261 stitches
and it's up to you... but that piece of fabric will have to be special
order. there will also be bonus charts to come with this. let us
know if you're interested...we are setting up our lists...

so...that's market 2010 nashville. this is what we
purchased for our shop - there were other designers there - to be sure - but
this is what we brought home with us. there is a huge hoffman order
winging it's way to us as well - and there will be more in the next weeks as
that product arrives on our doorstep here in modesto.
the designers that didn't come - you were missed by the shops
that did make the sacrifice and the trip to nashville. the shops that
didn't come - you were missed by the designers who did make the sacrifice and
the trip to nashville. i'm not sure what comes first here - chicken or
eggs...but it would have to be a mighty big "chicken or egg" for me
not to fly across the country with annie to attend market - i just can't even
begin to imagine what it would be like not to attend nashville in february and
st. charles in september. we're home - it was a whirlwind trip (as they
always are) and annie and i are both so glad that we went...and we will keep
right on going as long as the shows continue. tired as we were - it
revived our souls and spirits...and there just are not enough hours in the
day...
