okay...here
we go again!!!!
after
numerous phone calls and some very disturbing e-mails...here are the chatting
points.
1.
i am not terminally ill. i might be terminally insane...but not terminally
ill.
2.
i have not died.
3.
we have NOT closed the shop nor do we have any intention of closing the shop.
4.
yes, we are still a bricks & mortar shop.
5.
yes, our hours of operation have changed a bit - they are listed in every footer of every page of this website.
6.
this change in operational hours allows some flexibility in our working hours as
i noted in the original announcement as shown below.
7.
if you have ANY questions or concerns, i once again ask that you contact US -
because, honestly - we really do know what's going on.
8.

it
seems that no matter how carefully, simply, without nonsense you try to
make something - there are those that like to stir the pot, put their own spin
on things, invent something totally not true, or gossip. you will all be
the first to know anything that happens here when and if it affects the
operation of this business. if you don't or haven't read it here -
probably need to consider the source of the information.

And
so....
We’ve had some interesting turns here - and if I had remembered
to write everything down over the last eleven years - annie and I could write a
book or so I think.
This
week has been a week of anniversaries - some good, some not so good - but a week
of anniversaries none-the-less. Tuesday the 17th marked my 15th
year since breast cancer diagnosis and also the year anniversary of my
mother’s stroke - a bittersweet day is January 17th.
We have also made some huge changes around here and until
everything was put into place and figured out - we have held off making any kind
of announcements - but I have been missing from the web site for awhile because
there was an awful lot to do.
Effective February 1, 2012 Elegant Stitch, Inc. will go back to our
original format - back to our beginnings as it were - where we started 15 years
ago come September - we are returning to mainly an internet shop. After long
discussions with my husband and Annie, we have decided to give ourselves
the gift of time (because it is fleeting at best) and in order to do that - the
walk-in aspect of this operation has to change.
We will still be a fully operational shop - just more focused to the
internet as opposed to walk-in. Our
address and facilities have not changed and we will be here and available
by telephone, e-mail or fax 5 days a week.
We have also made arrangements to accommodate “field trips” by
appointment and make every effort to be here if you are in the neighborhood.
Please contact us via email or telephone if you would like to physically visit
the shop other than our normal hours.
These changes will allow us more time to take care of this business, give
me more time for creative projects that are begging to be done, more time for
finishing, more time for our families, a vacation once in awhile and not
spending a minimum of 12 hours a day, six plus days a week taking care of this
monster that I have “raised”. Annie and I need more time for us and
unless we make it happen - it never will.
e hope
you will continue to shop with us, visit our website and remain part of our
family. We love our business - we have worked very hard to make it what it
is today - but, as anybody knows - you don’t own the business - the business
owns you and we need to take a little time for ourselves so we can enjoy the
fruits of our labors...and keep our “monster” on the best possible course
for it’s continued success.
If you have any questions at all - please don’t hesitate to contact me
at lois@elegantstitch.com
and thank you for your continued support.
